beQRious - QR Code Safety Scanner
Effective Date: April 5, 2026
beQRious is a QR code safety scanner that analyzes QR codes for potential security threats. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
QR Code Content
When you scan a QR code, its content (such as a URL) is sent to our server to check against known threat databases. We do not store the content of your scans on our servers. The check is performed in real time and the result is returned to your device.
Scan History
Your scan history is stored locally on your device only. It is never uploaded to our servers. You can clear your history at any time from the app.
Device Information
We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses for tracking, or any personally identifiable information.
You may choose to report a QR code as suspicious. When you submit a report, the following data is sent to our server:
This data is stored on our server to help improve safety for all users. A random, anonymous install ID (generated on your device) is used to prevent duplicate reports from the same device. This ID cannot be used to identify you personally. Reported data may be retained indefinitely to support ongoing threat analysis.
A record of QR codes you have reported is also stored locally on your device.
All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. API requests are authenticated using cryptographic signatures to prevent unauthorized access. No user credentials or personal data are transmitted during threat checks.
beQRious does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. The app does not require account creation or any personal data to function.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
